Sunday afternoon skate against South Carolina: the Atlanta Gladiators rattle the 'Rays with their late rally for a 2-1 win

Preview: South Carolina Stingrays (33-21-2-1/69 pts/6th in the Eastern Conference) vs Atlanta Gladiators (18-36-3-1/40 pts/14th in the Eastern Conference)

The Sunday afternoon (March 10, 2024 at 3pm EST) "skate" at the Gas South District features the Atlanta Gladiators hosting the South Carolina Stingrays. With a .500 record over their past 10 games (5-5-0-0) and within striking distance of a playoff spot, the 'Rays are looking to steal a win on the road. On offense, they'll look to Austin Magera (22 goals/36 assists/58 points) and Jack Adams (19 goals/33 assists/52 points) to put pressure on Glads' goaltender Gustavs Davis Grigals and the team defense.

Atlanta counters with team leaders MIcah Miller (21 goals/17 assists/38 points) and Jackson Pierson (13 goals/21 assists/34 points) as the team looks to generate positive momentum down the stretch as they have 1 win in their last 10 games.

Despite their current stretch, the team's focus, chemistry, and work ethic are ever present. During our pregame interview prior to their team meeting, Jackson Pierson speaks with us on the team's character and areas of focus for today along with lessons learned during the 2023-24 season.

Game recap: Atlanta rallies for a thrilling 2-1 win.

The Glads would take a 1-0 lead in the 1st period (8:06). Michael Marchesan's 9th goal of the season (assisted by Carson Gicewicz and Reece Vitelli) would dart past 'Rays' goaltender Reid Cooper for a good start for Atlanta.

South Carolina would return the favor, as 8 seconds into the 2nd period, they tie the game (1-1). Jack Adams notches his 21st goal of the season (with assists by Connor Moore and Michael Kim).

The Glads would get their breakthrough late in the 3rd period.
