Good to go in Gwinnett: the Atlanta Gladiators extend their lease at the Gas South for 4 more years
On August 29th (2023) at the Gas South District, the Atlanta Gladiators' press conference provides a sense of stability and clarity regarding their playing status. Since their establishment in 2003, the team has made the Gas South District (formerly the Gwinnett Civic Center and Infinite Energy Arena) their home.
Team majority owner Alex Campbell, COO (of the Gas South District) Stan Hall, and Gwinnett County Commissioner (District 1) Kirkland Carden share information and insight regarding the team's status. In extending their lease for another 4 years, the team is committed to building upon their history, present, and future of providing exciting ECHL Hockey (as an affiliate of the NHL's Nashville Predators) in Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta area (you may watch the full press conference below):
"There's a history here", notes Stan Hall.
Commissioner Carden adds, "We are proud (for Gwinnett County) to remain the home of Atlanta's only pro hockey team".
With the start of the 2023-24 season around the corner (the season opener is October 21st), as the team ushers in a new era (click HERE for our coverage of the team's press conference earlier this summer) given their coaching (1st year head coach Derek Nesbitt and top assistant Eric Neiley) and related personnel moves, it's about getting closer to their team goals, including bringing home the vaunted Kelly Cup as ECHL champions.
And staying home for the foreseeable future (next 4 years) provides the setting for generating a home ice advantage second to none.
This makes things good to go.
