Elegance and excellence: the 2nd annual #AnElegantEveningOfJazz provides an outstanding live music experience and support for Mount Zion High School's jazz program

On July 23, 2023 (click HERE to learn more), under the leadership of Dr. Shenita Scott via #LifeWithShenita and related programming (Life After the Rain), #AnElegantEveningOfJazz is launched. Given her affinity for live music, specifically jazz, the inaugural event takes place at the stately Spivey Hall on the campus of Clayton State University, as it features top-notch artists, a great host, and support for the jazz ensemble at the Martha Ellen Stidwell School of the Arts.

After a tremendous start, the series returns this Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Taking place at the familiar and engaging venue, Spivey Hall (click HERE for ticket information), the second edition of the series takes place. With a public reception starting at 4pm and the concert starting at 5pm, it provides an elegant environment for fans of smooth jazz, live music, networking, and social engagement as a way to close out the weekend (for an initial point of reference, you may watch the video preview below):

The highly acclaimed Morris Baxter, the host of 91.9 WCLK Jazz FM's Morris in the Morning, returns to bring his presence and acumen to the event. This year, the featured artists include Vocalist Lori Williams, Pianist Gino Rosaria, and Saxophonist Trey Daniels, all of whom are highly respected and regarded artists. Adding to the experience is the comedic excellence of Cornelius George (to learn more, you may watch the interview via our collaborative partners of the Lens2Pens Podcast below):

In maintaining a foothold in the community, a portion of the proceeds are donated to support the jazz program at Mount Zion High School. Thanks to attendees and sponsors including (but not limited to) Bronze Level Sponsors Floyd Gantt (of Edward Jones Financial Services based in Fayetteville, GA) and Dr. Keith and Mary Horton, along with Friends of Life With Shenita Sponsors New Vision Christian Church (led by Senior Pastor Dr. Luke Hall) and Raquel Lavender (of Keller Williams Realty), their community goal mirrors the level of support of what takes place in 2023 (click HERE to learn more).

A limited number of tickets, including those for the VIP reception prior to the general public reception, by visiting the website for Spivey Hall (click HERE); for related information, interested patrons may speak with Dr. Scott (404-429-8288).

An elegant event complete with top-notch smooth jazz artists, support for the immediate community, all in a high-quality environment and venue is what makes #AnElegantEveningOfJazz a memorable event in the early fall, especially for patrons and lovers of live music.

And this is what can make elegance transform to excellence.
