A wonderful walk on a wonderful weekend. A look at the 2024 #ButterflyWalk via the Social Butterflies Foundation

This past weekend (August 3, 2024), a truly wonderful event takes place.

Even with the looming weather due to Hurricane Debby, the annual #ButterflyWalk via the Social Butterflies Foundation takes place. This year's event (click HERE for our preview article) is a first as it shifts indoors (at the Boo Williams Sportsplex), but the move creates a positive and less labor intensive setting for those who live with lupus or fibromyalgia (the focus areas of the foundation's programming).

Under the leadership of Chastity Corbett, she and her team have a successful Saturday with a sound showing of walkers, vendors, along with multiple guests across the public and private sectors, arts and entertainment, and interrelated fields. Actors Oshea Russell and Michael Bolwaire from the BET Plus series All the Kings Men and IHeart Radio's Ambie Renee are among the hosts of the event. Combined with civic leadership including (but not limited to) Congressman Bobby Scott and State Representative Jackie Glass, their presence, combined with others from across the area, region, and beyond, make it a community-centered and engaging day.

Likewise, some support from out of state adds to the experience, as a day party (held on August 3, 2024) held by Atlanta, GA based V103 FM presented by Remy Martin donates a portion of their proceeds to the nonprofit to assist them with their fundraising goal for the event.

And as noted, butterflies don't fly alone, and the same goes for those served through the efforts of the Social Butterflies Foundation.
