30 years.
From a number of vantage points, that is a considerable amount of time to be in one space and place. And when it comes to the stewardship, outreach, and service synonymous with Poplar Hill Baptist Church, their congregation and leadership has a consistent constant at the helm.
And that is Pastor Avery Headd.

With a litany and legacy of service within the Buford, GA community, Gwinnett County, and beyond, the next to last Sunday of March (March 23, 2025 at 10am EST at 234 E Shadburn Ave in Buford, GA) is a special service to celebrate his 30 years of doing so at the church and so much more. A sound array of speakers and song is part of the program, but it's more to it.
It's about celebrating the multiple forms of stewardship and community engagement to show the importance and relevancy of the faith community, not only just over a certain timespan, but for today and and beyond.
Patrons within and across the faith and general community are invited to be a part of the service, and with call for colors of emerald green, gold, and cream, it helps set a festive yet reflective tone.
It's a community call for cheers to 30 years (and counting).
